Universal Electronics Inc. (Nasdaq:UEIC) today announced that the company has been honored with the esteemed Best of Innovations Design and Engineering Award at the 2005 International CES. NevoSL, the ultimate control for the broadband home, was selected from among over 800 new product entries and 27 different categories submitted for Innovations Awards at this year's CES. NevoSL received Best of Innovations distinction, which is given to only the most highly honored products in all facets of the consumer technology industry. Reviewed by a pre-eminent panel of judges representing leaders in engineering, industrial design, consumer electronics technology and media, the NevoSL was given top honors in the Accessories category, based on user value, aesthetics, design and contributions to the quality of life.
NevoSL has also been recognized with the Technology Is a Girl's Best Friend (TechGirl) Award in the Home Networking Category. Journalists from top women's and technology media outlets judged product entries based on form, function, overall ease of use, and ways in which these products enhance the daily lives of female consumers, who according to the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) account for $55 billion of the consumer electronics market today.
