Universal Electronics Announces Seamless Integration of Its NevoSL(TM) with the iMerge S3000 SoundServer

CYPRESS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 29, 2007--Leading wireless technology developer Universal Electronics Inc. (UEI), (NASDAQ:UEIC) today announced that its innovative NevoSL, a universal controller that intuitively delivers complete audio/visual and digital media control for the networked home, and the iMerge SoundServer S3000 hard disk audio system now offer seamless integration. Consumers can access all SoundServer music files and control its functions while albums, art images and other information are displayed on the NevoSL screen.

Universal Electronics places a high importance on tight integration of NevoSL with other manufacturer's equipment. The collaboration with iMerge further enhances the value both companies' products offer to consumers and dealers. Using a SoundServer S3000 controlled by NevoSL, consumers have a single control point to control virtually all their home theater and A/V equipment while bridging the gap between digital music content stored on the SoundServer S3000. Consumers can play and interact with virtually any song in any of the four media zones supported by the SoundServer S3000, all from the palm of their hand.

Virtually all iMerge SoundServer S3000 models are now compatible with the NevoSL. On these models, up to four streams of high quality uncompressed audio can be delivered to a conventional multi-room amplifier. A single output iMerge S3000 can serve multiple listeners simultaneously by interfacing with selected UPnP streaming devices. Using UPnP technology, NevoSL is able to automatically discover media content on the SoundServer S3000 and display metadata content on the display for users to browse and select. To stream music, users can simply select what they want to hear and where they want to listen to it.

Since its launch, NevoSL has quickly become a favourite of the professional custom installer and has garnered numerous industry awards, including Residential Systems' RESI Award for Best Handheld Controller, Electronic House "Product of the Year," and CEDIA Australia's Best in Show.

"The integration of the iMerge SoundServer S3000 with NevoSL from Universal Electronics extends the capabilities of the SoundServer to a powerful hand held controller," said Chris Janes, iMerge head of sales. "The innovative, easy to use features of NevoSL provide a total solution that enhances the overall user experience."

"Compatibility is one of the key elements in creating a universal controller, especially one as innovative as NevoSL," says Ramzi Ammari, vice president of product development for UEI. "The seamless integration of these two best-of-class products is a win for consumers and dealers."
